Hi, I'm Frits and I live - you guessed it - in the Netherlands. I've always been interested in photographing small creatures. Spiders have my special interest because I think they are fascinating, both in behaviour and appearance.

For me, the more animals differ from humans, the more fascinating they are (although humans can be quite interesting as well, see here).

Determining the species of a spider found inside or outside the house is a challenging and exciting game for me. I built this site as a means to determine the family, genus, and - if possible - species of a spider as quickly as possible. Read the following section to discover how I hope to achieve this goal.
