For the sake of our study, we must define a set of basic definitions, which will be referred to throughout this website.
The point at which the pigtail originates is called the pigtail origin. Properties associated with the origin are discussed here.

The region between a pigtail's origin and the tip, is referred to as the pigtail body. Properties associated with the pigtail body are discussed here.
The imaginary line which runs through the middle of the pigtail from the origin to the tip, is referred to as the pigtail baseline.
Pigtail length is defined as the length of the baseline.
